battery question

do batteries really make that big of a difference in performance. i have a 1900 mah nimh battery, and my rig seems to crawl about as good as anyone could expect. but, i have been thinking about upgrading to a new, more powerful battery. and suggestions or comments?

It depends on a few things. And what do you mean by performence. There is handling performence, and power. There will certainly be a gain in handling, if you go to a smaller pack or lipo. Getting it lower helps lower your CG, and make the truck lighter(And I dot care what all you 7lb truck fags say, light trucks flat work. Ran in the low 5's and less since 09 :flipoff: )

In terms of power, you will notice a big gain in applications that require more power. When you have a batter that cant deliver, the voltage sags, and your runtime sucks. Rule of thumb is always gear down, volt up. That will help power in wheels speed, throttle response, and torque.

But your question is too vague still. Without knowing what you want to do, and what you're using, it is hard to say whats best for you.

I like running 4S lipos in the 1000mah range. There are alot of junk lipos out there though...
