Default motor question

Which setup would have the longest run time. I'm running an axial trans with axial axles and 2.2 mudslingers. I'm looking for runtime, should I run an Integy 35 turn lathe with a 16-20 tooth pinion or a stock axial or hpi 27 turn with a 13 tooth pinion? the pinion could change not absolutely dead set on those.

Not going to be a lot if difference between those 2 setups if you want run time go for a 55t they have way more run time that 35t prob close to 2x more

Yeah really, for runtime go 2 cell lipo on 55t. The 35t should give you more runtime than the 27t, especially considering you can run it at low timing advance.

Okay, I've got an Integy 65 turn (I'll have to double check I think it is a lathe motor). My buddy gave it to me since he changed his out to a Brood motor. The motor was put in a cc-01 with 1 battery pack run down on it. Is there anything I can do to pep it up any. It seemed a little weak in his cc-01.

Add voltage. Lots of it.

I've been reading some of the info on here about the tuning and maintenance of brushed motors. Should I find somebody to true it up on a lathe? What about tuning with brushes and timing? Endbell alignment ? So much info, it can be easily overwhelming.

First you need a motor that spins fast enough to make the power you need. Either a faster wind or a higher voltage. Then you can make the last 10% with tuning. While tuning is always a good idea, I don't think it will get you far enough with a 65t on probably 6 cell nimh.
