Default Spektrum SR3100

Anyone else having any troubles with this receiver ? Mine kept blinking , shutting off randomly and causing my motor to skip too at slow speeds. It finally crapped out , So off to Horizon for repair or warranty replacement. I wont re-bind of even light up at all now. I am using my DX6i and my 6 channel receiver now and everything runs real smooth . Better than it has ever run. Must have had this problem since day one. Maybe I should buy a used SR3000 ???

really odd behavior, I ran my crawler today with no issues, using a SR3100, DX3R radio (probably smoother then my old ko-propo)
i'd wait to see what horizon says about your rx, if they send you a new one, or repair yours that would be great.

my papers with my DX3R say the 3100 can only be used with the DX3R with DSM2, but any other RX can be used with the DX3R....that might be your problem.......bob

First problem a sr3100 WILL NOT work with a dx6i. I hope you didnt send it back yet because there is nothing wrong with it. 2nd your 6ch works fine because its supposed to.

I have the exact same problem with my 3100 right now...it will still bind but about 3 seconds later it is blinking on and off. What I think is weird is that is still bound and functioning "properly" while the light is blinking on.

I have only used it with my DX3R and have tried it in other vehicles to rule out the esc...same deal.

I'm interested to see what Horizon says...

I have a SR3100 that worked fine in the house on Wednesday and on Saturday I went out to drive and it wouldn't even light up. I ended up pulling another SR3100 from another truck and hooked it up and it worked fine. Not sure what went wrong with it. I am going to call Horizon this afternoon see check price on non-warranty repair.

My LCC has had a random glitch or stumble every so often for a few months now. I looked the rig over, moved everything around. It seemed ok but still had the random glitch. Then on accident I selected the wrong model memory and bound it to another receiver. When I figured out what I had done, I tried to bind back to the sr3100 in my LCC. Thats when I figured out all the trouble was the sr3100. The light would only blink once when the power was turned on or off. It would not bind (even after reading and following the directions). After trying about 20 times to get it to bind, the receiver jumped out of the LCC and flew across the room and now lives at the bottom of the garbage can. Damndist thing you ever seen.

if my memory serves me right T/C Hunter was using a dx3r on his losi comp crawler, which i presume this came out of his losi, and from what i understand after the sr3100 crapped out he put his dx6i 6ch rx in it so he could still crawl. not that he was trying to bind a sr3100 to a dx6i. just to clear things up.

Default Mis understanding

Note : I only use the SR3100 with my DX3R. Not my DX6i. I now have to use my DX6i with a good 6 channel receiver until Horizon Hobbies repairs or replaces my SR3100 so I can use my DX3R once again. Now that I have switched over using the DX6i my crawler runs way smoother , perfect , no skipping , sputtering or glitching. It was a bad receiver all this time. I thought is was a bad sensor wire or a short in the motor or something like that. Man it runs so smooth it's sick. Low end torque and wheel speed is great now. My 17.5 Xcelorin motor with a 12.5 rotor is working real nice. 1/2 hour runs are no problem with my 1300 mAh Turnigy Nano 3s packs. Batteries / motor and ESC all stay cool. No heat problems what so ever. Now this is how it should have run when I first got it.

I sent my SR3100 to Horizon to have it repaired b/c it would not power on. This was one of the first batches....so no warranty. I got it back in today and Horizon replaced it with a brand new one...no questions asked.
