Default FEELER: TQ3 Mods

I'm going to start working on mods for the basic tq3 (yes old am style). So far this is what i got planned, which i think all are possible, the last two still need to be tested though.

-3 pos mod, w/ EPA's
Will come all prewired, just 3 solder joints, and mounting hardware.

-Dual ESC: Adjustable mix rates.
Will mostly come as just raw parts, and a install guide. Will require mounting of all parts, will need general fab skills.

-4ws-TBD Possibly different options.

Will mostly come as just raw parts, and a install guide. Will require mounting of all parts, will need general fab skills. Most likely will do front only, mix, crab, and rear only.

Or just a simple knob with a center click/detent. for rear steer, or possibly winch

If your interested post up, the whole purpose of these mods is so a more completive crawler, or innovation can happen with a inexpensive radio setup.

I would be interested in a dual esc mod. my tq3 has the 3 position switch for rear steer. how would you set it up for dual esc tho? I'm no good at electronic stuff knowledge wise, but ok on practical work

For dual esc operation there will be a knob that you will turn which will very the mix rate, so you can spin your rear tires slower than the front. It will also have a switch which will act as a front/rear dig switch (3 pos)

Only one of the mods above can be used. Not all 3.

ah ok. i reckon the dual esc mod would be a good idea, but im running a superclass stick so need the rear steer. i suppose if the esc mix could lock front or rear that would be similar (tho not the same)

Are you planning on converting AM models to 2.4 as well?

OR, are the mods you are explaining capable of working on current 2.4 TQ radios?

If you're thinking of complete retrofits of TQ radios using TQ2's I've got 4 of them if you need sample radios to show.

I don't think a am tq can be converted to 2.4, unless it has a ppm modulation but it most likely has pcm...

No the current 2.4 tq won't work because the third ch isn't a proportional ch, at least i think

I've retrofited a few tq's with 6ch guts...
