If a truck is set up for Lipo can it only run lipo?

That ESC can be programmed to run both NiMH (or NiCad) and Lipo. |

the rooster crawler can run nimh or lipo up to 2s, although i run mine on 3s with an external cut off. no problems so far come to think of it. if you set the esc for lipo i guess it will cut off nimh at the low voltage for lipo. that might reduce run time. |

Does anything have to be done to the esc (rooster crawler) to switch between lipo and nimh?

yes . 1: hold the button down until both LED's come on 2:release button as soon as the LED's come on. 3 the 2 LED's will flash to show current throttle profile (1 flash for standard profile (nimh batteries). 2 flashes for lipo cut off on)(the rooster is only designed for 2s lipo) 4: quick press and release set button to change selection 5: the setting is stored in memory if button is not pressed within 3 seconds |
