Default LVC question

Hey guys,

I have a question about LVC. I run a tekin FXR and am going to make the jump to lipo. If I have the LVC set for a 3s lipo (i think 3.1v per cell is conservative so 9.3v right?) would I be able to use my nimh packs still or would they cut off way too soon? I have 4 7-cell packs (2-3000mah; 2-4200mah) and one 8-cell 5000mah. I believe charged they are around 11v and drained they are below 9 so I am guessing they would work but cut off earlier than they would normally but I'm still trying to learn electric RC...

Well the thing is I have 2 trucks and they're both trail rigs so the esc is in a balloon with silicone in the neck. it is not really practical to tear that down. So supposing I did try it... I'm curious how will the nimh behave? Will they be unusable?

and thanks for the reply by the way.

if the 7cell did run with the 3s cutoff it wouldnt for long and the 8 cell would be better but neither would run as long as they could since the esc doesnt know the difference betwwen nimh and lipo as it just reeds the voltage going in
