Default Goat 3S with 18.5 motor getting to hot

Im running a goat and 18.5 and the motor gets extremely hot. I have no driveline bind if you take the pinion off the wheels free spin for a while. Im running 12 and a 89 and i have the lowest gears made for the axles. Has anyone else had this problem? I starting to think maybe im running to much drag brake i dunno.

The gear mesh is perfect just a little play in between the spur and pinion. Its a scx with just a nimh it gets exesively hot. I put a 3s in it and in about 1 min of easy running it was almost to meltdown stage. and with the stick pack i have checked it with a temp gun and it at 190deg.

I have the same set up with a 3s and no drag brake set, the motor stays ice cold.

Same here on 2s with the drag brake maxed, just sitting there on flat ground would get extremely hot. I find settings around three easier to drive with the way the goat drag works also, instead of freewheeling down hill I can let it creep on the brake.
