4pk if you got the money, 4pl if you don't wanna spend that much. Both are highly capable racing radios also....some of the best drivers in the world use the 4pk... Later EddieO |

3r is also a great radio if you don't need the 4th ch. I sometimes think I need the 4th but love the 3r. Especially if your racing your slash and TC car. The sr3100 makes a big difference. If you have a track check what the other guys are using.

4PL. You cannot get a better radio for the price, IMO.

4pl is around $250, if you want a el cheapo, but gets the job done just fine hobbypartz.com sales a flysky gt3B. This should do everything you would need in a radio, till you start getting more advance into crawlers, but $35 makes for a good temp radio

I'm a major Futaba fan, I would suggest a 3PM-x (what I run on a Bully MOA with a servo dig) or a 4PL. The 3PM-x is ~$150 US, the 4PL is ~$225 US. I will eventually replace my crystal radios in 12th pan, 10th pan & 10th buggy with the 3PM-x. The RX's for the 4PL are a bit cheaper than the 3PM-x though, so consider that as well. |

| My son is running a 4PL on a Venom Creeper...thus far he has been happy with it. As he gets more RX's, he will replace other radios in his other vehicles..... As a side note, if you get a new 4PL now, it "may" have the updated firmware that is more suited to crawling. If it does not (read the 4PL thread in the electronics section) you can send it out for a free update. We did it. |

I picked up a 4PL today, and part of the reason was the fact that you can run the cheaper RXs with it, as well as the faster s-fhss RX that comes with it. I have a 2PL, and I've picked up about 6 R603GF RX's on ebay or rctech for $30 or less each. They work with the 4PL too.

I'll ask this here and maybe get an answer without starting a new thread. I have a spektrum dx3r, can I use a different brand of receiver with my radio? Ex. A traxxas or futaba 2.4ghz receiver with my dx3r?

| Of what you've mentioned, no. But I think you can use other brands of dsm and dsm2 rxs. I have a losi branded dsm Rx that will bind with the spektrum radios. There may be some china knockoffs as well. I know for sure that the futabas won't work.

But, I am fairly new to the 2.4ghz game, so take my comment with a grain of salt. | |

3PK's are excellent radios for short course as well as crawling. Most MOA's only need 3 ch. anyway. I've got all the functions of a 4PK for less than 1/2 the cost. (using 3 channels of course) You can get a decent 3PK for around 150-200 $'s. I've got a 3PK for my MOA and a 4PL for my girls. With certain adapters I could still run like a 4PK. I like all the tuning functions of the 3PK for my SC rigs and some others, they also had all Spectrum rx's, since the 3PK can use a spectrum module I went with it so I don't have to buy other rx's for all my other rigs.
