Default LI-PO help needed!

so i put a brushless motor and esc on my traxxas slash 2wd, it flies!!!
but it kills my batteries fast! so i need to get a li-po battery and charger.
i was some more speed, but i want longevity of battery life too. making the battery pack last longer is more important at this point though.

edit* also what do the numbers and letters mean?
mah = battery life
1s-2s??
35c-40c??
and volts = power??

can you guys give me some recommendations?
thanks!!

Mah - stored capacity, the amount of fuel
1s - the number of cells, batteries
35c - the rate of discharge, the higher the c rating the the more current it will supply
Volts - the higher the volts, the higher the rpm of the motor
as far as run time if your running a 2500 Mah pack and you change to a 5000 Mah pack you will double you're run time.

in addition on lipos 1s =3.7 volts that being noted

1s = 3.7 volts
2s = 7.4 volts
3s = 11.1 volts
4s =14.8 volts
and so fourth.

make sure your esc's lipo cut off is set correctly for the battery you are using or you will cook your battery.

I run 2s 5200mah lipos in my slash 4x4. They last 20 to 30 minutes, but that all depends on throttle management. I generally don't recommend that people run more than 2s in the 4x4, it is probably the same on the 4x2. 3s makes the motor get hot really quick, and unless you are careful you can burn it up very easily. It is also SO fast that you can't really control it, which kind of makes it useless. These trucks are geared to go fast anyway, if you can give them the current they need (as with a lipo) they are powerful and fast enough. I am not sure if the battery tray size on the 4x2 and 4x4 are the same size, but these are the batteries that I use:

You will also need a good balancing lipo charger and 12v power supply (or car battery). I don't have this one, but the specs and price look good:

Regardless of the charger you get, you will want one that can charge at 10 amps, because those HK 2s 5200mah lipos can be charged at 2C, which is 10a (okay, 10.4a). That means you need a charger of at least 85W (probably 100W for efficiency), but just watch out for the max charging amps and you should be good. Charging at 2C will charge those packs in about 20-30 minutes, versus 50-60 minutes at 1C. Hope this helps!
