Default Spektrum SR300 reciever wire length?

Is the reciever wire on a Spektrum SR300 supposed to be really short like 3" long?

Thanks in advance.

I think that's about right. Give or take.

If it's been cut a little, i doubt it'll affect your range too much if it's in a crawler, since most times you are right there next to it.

Cool, I thought I'd double check. It's my first Spektrum and I'm used to the super long wires on other recievers. Thanks guys.

I will assume you are coming from older crystal based radios (I still use Futaba Magnum Juniors in my other road rigs)?? Yes, the newer 2.4ghz radios have a short RX antenna compared to the older FM & AM crystal radios.
Part of this is due to the frequensy, most antenna's are either "full wave" or some fraction (1/4 wave, 1/2 wave) which refers to the wavelength of the frequency.
AM is fairly long wave, FM is shorter, 2.4ghz is really really short. Thus the 2.4ghz antenna can be really short.

Hopefully this helps out a bit.
