| Winch Controller-How much amps does a winch pull
Well i've been slowly (few months so far, another month or so before release) working on a dig controller, and the main circuitry designed to operate two solenoids could drive two motors (or lights) up to 20 volts. However they can't handle huge amperage, 4 amps at most with a few design changes, but 3 amps as it stands. add 1 amp for peak amperage for a few seconds. So my question is how many amps do winch motors pull? Is 3 amps suffice? The circuitry is uber small (about 1/4"x1/4") for the 3amp vesion and weighs .3 grams so they'd be easy to hide, and weight isn't an issue. Oh it be a simple on off on electronic switch, no variable control, no brushless motors. |

My experience with a 3r winch is that on 7.4v it will pull 1.6-2amps at stall (depending on the age of the winch). On 11.1v thru a esc i saw a peak of 2.1amps at stall before the gearbox grenaded. I reckon 3amps is on the button. |

I know servocity.com has most of the amp ratings listed for servo's. As far as im aware the Brushed bulldog uses the same motor & Gearbox as the 3r winch so i would assume they would be the same, but i could be wrong. |
