| Bec wiring..?
hi all.. there seems to be 2(or more?) types of connection of a bec .. 1 type is to wire direct from batt to Rx(from XR10 thread), another type is from batt to servo, requiring a slight mod to a Y-harness.. wats the difference in both? is it to use type 2 connection when the Rx batt terminal is taken up by leds? single servo / multiple servos? any other considerations? thanx |

You would wire directly to the servo with + - and send signal to the rx if you needed to run your servo at a higher voltage than what your rx could handle

Running it straight to your servo ensures all power is going right to the servo. Wiring it to your rx then the power is shared between the servo and motor.

| If you wire you bec to your battery leads on your esc. Your bec will send the voltage you have it set at to your rx. The rx does not power your motor or your esc. So the voltage is not shared. The bec powers the rx and the esc powers the motor. The only thing your esc gets from your rx is the throttle signal. I have mine hooked up this way and I've had no problems. Its the way CC recominds hooking it up. I think most rx's are good up to 6 to 8 volts or so. So if you don't need more voltage then that you will be good. Just my 2 cents

Correct, hence the big thick leads going into and out of the esc. The esc gets whatever the battery is giving, the rx gets whatever the BEC is regulating it to, be it an internal or external BEC.
