| putting new line on 3racing winch
Anyone have any tips on putting new line on the 3racing winch. I feed winch all the way out and didnt really understand how to do it. do I need to take winch off bumper and take outer plastic shell off and take out spool to do this???? any help appreciated.thanks |

Yes, you'll need to drop the winch and dismantle it to gain access to the drum. The line is knotted through a hole on the drum so take the housing apart, remove the old line and replace it with the new line of choice. Shouldn't take you more than a few minutes While you're at it you could also remove the bearings, clean out the thick grease with motor spray and re-lube them with a light weight bearing oil like Epic/Trinity Royal Oil...makes them much smoother with noticeably less resistance. |

You don't need to take the winch apart, there is a small set screw holding the line in place. Just unspool it all loosen the set screw, pull out the line and replace it. I use 80lb test fishing line from Wally world. Aweome tip on the bearing grease! Last edited by rckjeep; 03-04-2011 at 12:01 AM. |

| i seen set screw and thought trhat screw held the spool on the motor shaft.?????

nope if its inline with the hole the line goes in, it holds the line inplace
