Default Do Futaba servos run backwards?

I picked up a Futaba S9157 from the classifieds, it works opposite of my old servo, steering forward goes left backwards goes right. The previous owner ran the servo upside down, can the servo be reprogrammed to run the opposite way? I reversed by steering channel and everything is gravy, I was just curious if futabas are different than other servos.

Nope, other servos run different from Futaba, not the other way around.

Thats what the reversing switches are for.

backwards and forwards are relative terms. some brands are clockwise , others are counterclockwise for "forward" transmitter input.

In the days before affordable multi channel radios an easy way to setup 4 wheel steering on the clodbuster was to use a hitec servo on one axle and a futaba on the other, both connected to ch1 on the rx with a plain y-adapter.

Then, they invented "servo reversing" switches.....

Yeppers, I remember only buying Futaba servo's as replacements since I knew they all rotated the same way.
