| The case of Cogging v. Glitching
I have read the vast majority of posts on both subjects. After reading the descriptions given by others I am unable to diagnose whether my issue is one of cogging, glitching (or both?) I am running an MRC with the mongoose system. I have run both 2s (800) lipo and 3s (1750) lipo. I have also installed the castle BEC and wired it to the servo per the instructions found here. The issue came up before the BEC so that cannot be the reason. Sometimes it will not move forward at all with full trigger pull. Sometimes it will stutter forward and then take off. I know the cogging issue appears at lower speeds and that is all I drive. I bought the truck used and have always had the problem, and it comes and goes. Sometimes the truck will stop for about 45 seconds and not respond at all. Ideas? Thanks in Advance |

I run a mongoose as well.. maybe I can help. You said that you're wiring your servo directly off of your bec. so bec +&- go directly to servo +&- bec signal isn't being used servo signal is in your RX correct? Are you using the Mongoose internal BEC to power your RX?

The stop and go behavior you are mentioning sounds like BEC failure. So you lose steering when this happens? get to where you can see your RX . See if the light goes off when the truck dies. |

The symptoms preceded the install of the BEC. It was one of the reasons why I went with the BEC (aka failed attempted fix.)

If it cogs or jumps but you have clean steering I'd bank on the esc/motor. If no steering it would be the bec or receiver. Since you mentioned this problem was prior to the bec, swap out the receiver and note the results. |

What about the RX light... does that stay on or die? Everything that you are saying leads to the Novak. Just to be safe, have you recalibrated and reprogrammed the Monoose? Check for shorts in the Mongoose RX wires?

Well here is the update. I changed the location of the antennae and re-synched the esc with the remote. It seems to be doing better. I could not get it to glitch/cog. It seems that when it does occur it does so to a significant degree.
