Default Sidewinder V2

Ok, whats your guys take on the Sidewinder V2 esc. I would be running it on a 55T motor [soon to be something better, don't worry ] on 3S on it. Right now i have a Mamba Max and ive used a Sidewinder Micro before without issues [both with an external BEC] I like the footprint of the Sidewinder for wiring over the Mamba Max and I would be putting the mamba Max into a different car.

It should work ok. I would say if you plan to stay brushed you might as well go with a brushed specific ESC although the ability to go back and forth would be nice. The only thing I wish it had was the ability to handle more than 3s although thats not bad. Check ebay, there are a bunch on there for $65 shipped.

I have a sv2 in my creeper. Works just as good as the older sidewinder. All tbough the sv2 has an issue with the firmware. Nothing big, just that on a brushed motor you have to use the white wire for the positive wire. I also use a 55t on a 3s.

I had a feeling it was good and considering ive used a Sidewinder Micro to power my car before on 3S [before it let the smoke out ] I think it should be fine. I like the ability to have a brushed/brush less ESC on my rig, helps if I need to use it on another car

You can run 4s on a crawler with no problems. It doesn't even get warm.

Ok good to know, I now always run my stuff with an external BEC so that way it doesn't overload the one inside trying to run the servo

No white is Negative not positive.

There's is nothing really wrong with the V2/SCT besides the firmware glitch.

I'm running 2 of them and they are just as good as the original sidewinder but capable of handling more power (JRH said that they have upgraded the FET's).

Brushed on 3s is hilarious with the right motor. Plus if you get bored you can always do the go fast with a brushless set up.

I run red and black to the motor, I removed the white wire. Go figure since the new Castle/Axial style ESC has no white wire, and so on. I guess whatever works and doesn't smoke your ESC is fine

I run mine on dual brushed motors and I am happy it. The issue with the red and white wire is a thing of the past. All you have to do is sync it up with castle link and hit update and it will reset the firmware to the original red+ black- as the owners manual specifies.
