No real need, keep in mind the motor will need more service if it's a brushed motor.

I would suggest putting some shock booties on. The sand will stick to the shaft and the fine stuff will chew up your shock seals causing leaks. A simple methos is to get a long skinny ballon, and cut the tip off. Then take of your springs, and stretch the balloon over it end to end. Tuck the excess inside the spring, then re mount the spring, making sure that the balloonn stays in place by the spring cup and spring pre-load ring As far as keping the brushed motor safe, I'm not sure who made them, but there used to be a foam filter hat could be slipped on the end to help prevent debris from getting into the endbell and brush hoods. |

| I used to buy a cheap set of pantyhose. Cut ~4" sections, slide over the motor, tape the mounting end & rubberband the brush end. |

I've destroyed brushes on two motors in the last 2 weeks alone because of sand. Sand alone never seemed to do such quick damage, but mix sand and water together and you've got a recipe for disaster. Mind you I'm not trying to scare you, as I was simply pushing my rig to its limits and I knew better and was not suprised when the brushes "had enuff".....Fit some wheel wells into your body and that will help with alot of the "roost" getting into the motor.

Dont forget hardware as well. Make sure you're axles are all sealed up (including the holes in the top). Be prepared to possibly needing to replace some bearings after you're done as well.
