Default servo power

so i recently got a losi night crawler and have noticed that when im makeing a climb and my steering gets into a bind and i notice that all the pwr to the vehicle is cut out. but if i release the steering i can go again. i ordered a hitec hs7955tg servo with the hopes this wont happen. but is it still gonna happen because of no bec unit?

a couple pics from my second session as my buddys dads house.

My guess (more than likely correct) is the steering servo load is "browning out" your RX. This can be fixed by an external BEC.

I had the same thing on my rig, big steering loads caused the rig to stop responding, if I lifted the front wheels up it worked again. I finally noticed that when this happened, the RX lights went off due to brownout, lift the front wheels up & the RX lights came back on.
Fixed by adding a CC BEC.

I wired the BEC direct into the steering servo, thus I don't have to worry about what my RX can/can't deal with.

yep I had the same issue, i'll never build a crawler without an external BEC again (unless I build one with a BRXL)

slamming in a bigger servo will only make it worse, get a BEC along with that servo and you'll be golden.

(if you want to be a cheap ass, you can try one of these http://cgi.ebay.ca/HOBBYWING-UBEC-5V...item2a0ead15bd I have a friend testing one out and so far its been pretty good, I myself use 10A CC-BEC's in both my rigs)

No problem....you're not the first with this issue....likely not the last.

Just passing on the info.
