Default Axial 2.4ghz Receiver Issue

Received my SCX10TR Dingo two or three weeks ago and couldn't get the radio system to work. When you plug in a battery, the esc does its whole beeping thing, but no signs of life from the receiver. At the time I just wanted to run the truck, so I stuck an old Traxxas TQ AM system in there and put the stock radio system off to the side for troubleshooting later. Anyhow, over the last week or so, I've tried to figure out what is going on with it and have narrowed it down to the receiver. It's not getting any power at all and will not turn on, light up, etc. This is with the stock esc plugged in and a fresh battery hooked up. I've also tried it with a 6V receiver pack, still nothing. I've tried going through the whole bind procedure and still nothing. I got ahold of someone at Axial today and they acted a bit suprised I waited until now to contact them about it, but they told me to send it in nonetheless and they would look at it. Has anyone else had any issues with the stock radio system? I know the 2.4ghz system is relatively new, so I was just curious if anyone else has had the same issue.

They're wanting me to send in both the transmitter and receiver to make sure it's not something wrong with the Tx. While I appreciate their willingness to look at it, I'm not sure I even want to fool with shipping it to California. For what it would cost to ship it back and forth, I could come close to buying another receiver and be done with it. Any suggestions or troubleshooting tips? I've dealt with electrical gremlins before and I think I've exhausted pretty much all the options, but I figured I would ask around here to see if anyone else has had the same issue and could offer some info.

Thanks!

Maybe they want to verify that there isn't an issue OR prevent any future issues. If you don't send it in(shipping ~$11, flat rate) then someone else down the road might experience a similar situation and Axial again will have no clue as to what might be causing it.

Being a fairly close "family", crawlers that we are, I'd say send it in, act like you're donating $11 towards bettering the life of fellow crawlers.

True. I'll probably just send it in, just poking around to see if anyone else have had any issues and trying to figure out if it's even worth fooling with. It's a pretty snazzy little radio for a RTR setup though.

I went ahead and sent it in this morning, so we'll see what Axial says here in a few days. Hopefully I can get it back by the 26th (next comp), otherwise I'll have to fight with the AM system, which will probably be turned into a projectile since my tolerance for radio glitches is very low and the comp site is loaded with interference.

Call them up and see what they can do, you never know. I got mine back a couple weeks ago and it's worked fine since. I'm going to run it a little while longer, then purchase a 4PL here in another month or so. Gotta have extra channels for a winch and whatnot.

Same story with my axial rtc 2.4 radio gear. I only had it a few very easy weeks and they want me to pay 10$ to ship back a 2$ crap radio....no thanks. I just bought another 7$ reciever for my 20$ fkysky radio. I spent 20 mintues on the phone describing the issues so I obviously wasn't lying to get free product so he should have shipped me a new radio unit asap.
