Default Motor problems wind broke

This is the second time I have had this problem with a Handwound motor. Does anyone know why this would happen?

Maybe with better pics we can see where it broke and other symptoms...

Causes of thrown winds......out of balance(not overly common at crawler motor speeds), foreign object in motor (rock, washer, screw, etc), excessive current draw(very common in crawler motors), excessive heat, and bad solder joint at the comm.

From the one pic, looks to be a scrape down the middle of the stack, which might be from the wire, but could of been a rock or something.

I'm so glad we don't see that in crawling like we used to in touring cars. Use some silly putty or tape and see if there's any washers or foreign material stuck to the bottom of the magnets. Might find a grub screw or something that got sucked into the motor.

I've often found the culprit (washer, screw, rock, etc) always manages to find its way OUT of the motor once its toast, leaving us scratching our heads wondering wtf did it!

Isn't that the truth... smoking a motor and KNOWING it was a F'n E-clip because somebody's car ate the boards and destroyed a front arm right in front of you. Then half a lap later, POOF.
