| Liking my new motor/esc combo
As someone who is still fairly new to this crawling sport I set out to build a twin stick super. Previous bashing and racing experience had told me that brushless was the way to go, so I did. Well occasional cogging had been an issue with my super and last week when I somehow managed for the first time to completely burn up a motor and speed controller (A Tekin 21.5 matched to a Mamba Max Pro, running on 4s). I decided I would try a brushed setup and see how that performs. I received my new Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL along with CrawlMaster 540 (32) and first thing I notice was quality plain and simple. Got it wired up, mounted and programed and I must say the difference is surprising. Smooth and lots of low end torque with no cogging. I'm still using a brushless setup on the rear with the new HH setup on the front but my personal experience is telling me that for this sport brushed may work best. |

Glad you have new-found respect for your rig. Also glad you found that brushed is NOT dead, especially on this end of the RC spectrum. |

Yup, as with so much in life it's a learn as you go and see what works best for you thing. Playing with brushed motors again has taken me back to my childhood and reminds me of days playing with slot cars and such.

Glad you like it! There is indeed still some life left in brushed motors.
