Default Inexpensive ESC

I'm looking around for an in-expensive ESC for a few bashers I've got around. Just single motor, single steering rigs, probably no lower than 17turn. Only thing I really need is reverse. I looked at the moped... anything else anyone would recommend?

Thanks!
-Pat

You can get the duratrax intellispeed, but you may end up spending more money in the long run. I personally would get the sidewinder for the drag brake and programability and its only $30 more.

I've done used unfortunately, Got bit on an XL-1 not too long ago. Forward works great, no reverse. And Ive got an older rooster that for some reason, seems to loose its settings. Tried with different setups, and the neutral position seems to go wonky.

Sooo.. being that these are going in a Blitzer Beetle, and an old Mud Blaster, Im not real concerned with "old School" Just didn't want to waste any money on more used ESCs.

Thanks for the advice...

'MOCRAWLER' has an XL5 for sale for $20 shipped. Need to PM him quick though.

Not sure a Jolt R will handle lower then a 27t, correct?
Love my LRP AI reverse!

I bought a 300 amp chinesae esc off of ebay for $25 shipped. Other than a double pump reverse the thing has been fantastic and you can't beat the price. It even has a strong drag break! Here is the same one I have and can vouch for. Plus it's cheaper now! ($19 shipped ) http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Car-300A-ESC-...item588d1b08c9

This one I've never seen beforew but looks pretty sweet also.

does the xl1 have the option for "race mode" or "sport mode" becuase if it was stuck in race mode it would not have reverse.
