Default Hitec and xl-5's

Ok so I have two xl-5's in my comp rig. I have one esc going to throttle on the receiver, and the other going to aux, as I am runnin the wantasummit dx3e hack. (it works great I might add)

I have recently acquired a 7954. I wont have a problem with voltage or anything will I? I am runnin 2s 800mah. Thanks for all help.

You will need a bec. The internal bec on a XL5 isnt powerful enough to drive a 7954.

Ok, but there is two of them going to one receiver. Does that help or hurt?

you should have one of the red wires on the signal harness pulled out regardless of external BEC. its not a good idea.

to ask your original question, you will defenatly want an external BEC
