Default Newb Question LRP ESC/Battery

Just picked up a new Pack for my SCX 10 honcho running
an LRP Runner Plus 83060
The first pack i had bought was a 6 cell 7.2 volt
now the second pack is a 7 cell 8.4 volts
both put out 3300 mAH

i have been checking around im getting 50/50 responses about if i will cook my LRP ESC

the specs for the LRP Runner plus reverse 83060 say it tops out at 7.2

so my question is what would happen if i ran the 8.4 volt pack ...

I don't know for sure as I don't run your ESC. Some will tolerate over voltage OK, others will "Leak the magic smoke" when run a tiny bit over voltage.
Your application may be bad for the ESC.

Maybe someone else, with the same ESC, will chime in with what they have done & for how long.
