I agree, the reason I ask is due to crappy spline cuts. They are either not cut deep enough or the splines are only cut partially down the hole. I have also had problems with the screws bot being standard. So there us no Allen wrench out there that fits quite right. This leads to poor clamping. I was looking at a servo horn from spotonrc.com. They look promising, but I will probably be looking into Robitronics.

Harley, have you had a Racers Edge horn to compare side by side to the Robotronics?

Yes, I have bent and stripped them too. Not a fan.

Really I have 5 - 4 of which are for Hitech and never had an issue. They have been on my super and 2.2 for about 7 months. I know at least two other guys running this in my club plus Reniorbud and have never heard of one failing. Ah to each their own. Maybe you know something I don't.

Wes feel free to look at mine this weekend at RR.

I bought 2, still have them. One is on my Wraith. If you compare them next to a Robotronics though you can see the difference in quality. I haven't stripped one but wouldn't trust one on my comp rig.

Just saying if I didn't already have it I would buy Robotronics.

What I found was quality control is not great. I have some that were awesome and I am still using them. Others were junk and almost had no thread engagement on the spline. I will show you what I have on Sunday. looking forward to seeing what this servo will really do!

Never had a gear fail on any BLS servo I've owned.

Thanks guys this thread is just what i was after. I was at the hobby shop today and going to check servos(ive got an 90.00 credit, returns). Shops got 50.00 off over a 100.00 purchase, use by 12/31/2011. So i get killer servo for cheap. Was looking at high end servos. All they had was a hitec7955. Not enough torque. I use jr8711 servos (great servos).I wanted to step up in torque rating. Ive got 2 hitec ti gear servos (they seem to be good). What you all have said about the bls157hv futaba. I m sold!

Have you looked at the futaba s9157?! Im running this one on my XR. Has plenty of torque an it's super quiet " thumbs up".

It's a good servo but isn't in the same class as this servo. This servo blows it away.

Would you consider this the "ulitmate crawler servo", or is there something better on the market in your experience?

Ultimate i.e.
torque output
gear longevity
precision

I suggest a castle BEC. Don't buy a $200 servo and them buy a cheap POS BEC.
