Default Puller motor cutting out

I just installed a 454 puller on my mrc and it rolled for a couple feet then I stopped to turn around and it wouldnt move. I reprogramed everything changed battery finally I set it on the table hit the throttle again an it worked. So after a bit of messing around I can get it to run , but when I let off the throttle it stops and all I have to do is tap on the case with something. I can even get it to fire tapping with my finger but the end of my allen drver works better. Dosent matter where I tap , but seems to work better towards the rearof the can. Any body have an idea whats going on ?

What ESC and battery? Sounds like there may be a brush hanging on there. Be sure the brush wires are free and not smooshed up against the brush hood. Try pushing on a brush and see if it comes to life.

LNC esc 2s 2800mah 25-35c battery . The copper wires are smushed against the can , is that bad ? I have to go to work in a sec I will take pics tonight. whats the hood ? And could you maybe insert a pic of how it should look and I will try that out.

And should they spark when they are running. Not a huge spark , but I bet it would start some gas on fire kinda spark.

Minor acring (the spark) is normal for a brushed motor as the brushes "jump" on the comm.

"Smooshed" against the can is could be a problem. i would pop the brush springs off and make sure the brush slides in the hood nice a nd free.
