Default Wiring Help?

Well, as of now I've put about 12 hours into the electronics.

receiver is binded
Esc is wired to motors
receiver is plugged in to all components
Batteries charged and connected with deans
99% sure all wiring is correct

Nothing is working correctly.
Motors- LED is on and sounds like trying to work but no power.
Steering servo is clacking even when not used. (connected to battery)

Pictures:

Thanks.

1. Steering servo is crackling but does it resond to input from the transmitter?

2. If it does resond, have you calibrated the esc?
3. If it does and you have tried calibrating esc but it wont "take"... try reversing the throttle channel on transmitter and recalibrate.

wiring looks good and great pics were a bonus, try those and post results.

AND do you have castlelink to program that esc to brushed mode because it is in brushless by default.
are you using a punk?

Castlelink is about 20 bucks, I have two sidewinders in my collection, you may be able to program an esc without it but not sure cause I've only ever used the castlelink. Your lhs may have one you can use

You can program the Castle ESCs without the CastleLink. But is is much easier with the CastleLink.

See your instruction manual on how to change the motor mode to brushed. See pages 20-36: http://www.castlecreations.com/suppo...s_ed_guide.pdf

Are you using a Sidewinder v2? If yes, then you should use the red wire as + and the white wire as - going to the motor. This has to do with a firmware issue that Castle apparently hasn't fixed yet.

If your servo is wired correctly then it should react to steering input regardless of possible issues with your ESC. Digital servos make noise even when there is no steering input.
