| Charging Lipo's in paralell
Ive got 2 Hyperion 2s 850mah lipo's running in parallel on my Crawler. Can i charge them in parallel ? If it's possible how would one go about balancing the cell charging in parallel ? Or am i better off just charging them separately ? Ive tried searching and couldn't find an answer... |

I think you would be better off just charging them separately, probably be safer too, JMO!

how would you ballance them?? and do you need to???? I would think to do it safe, wire the ballancing plugs together for 4S and then you could ballance them both together.

Buy or make a parallel balance plug and charge it. Most manufactures make lipos already built that way and the balance wires are in parallel inside the shrink wrap.

Or web site like hobby king make series adapters so you can balance charge two 2s batts as a 4s.

We've been doing this with a couple 3s 850 packs ran in series for over a year, charged as a 6s pack with seperate charges to balance them here and there. Been meaning to wire up some balance leads but never got around to it. With parrallel you'd need to charge as a 1700 2s pack, no way I know of to wire a balancer so they would just need a seperate charge to balance here and there. As long as batteries are in good shape they usually stay balanced pretty well for five or six charges fine. |

If you parallel them, you will need to make a parallel balance harness. Certainly possible, I do it often. You will just need to be sure that the cells are very similar in voltage before you plug them together.
