Question Dig switch?

If I install a dig unit on my crawler do I need a 4-channel radio and reciever or is a 3 channel enough? I want front and rear dig. Thanks. Im new to this and I looked around the forums but couldnt find an answer.

A three channel radio with a 3 position third channel works fine for front/rear dig when you use a dig unit such as a Punk Dig.

+1.

On a single motor shafty, the "dig" is a gear thingy.
On a dual motor MOA, the "dig" is an electronic or servo based switch system.

I suggest you consider the dig controller I make when you are making your choice of which one to use.

MOA Dig Controller

Thanks,
Al

The dig is built into the trans on a LCC, so all that is needed is a servo to actuate the dig.

The XR-10 is also a great platform to start with on a MOA crawler, you will need 2 motors and a dig unit plus the ESC if you are going three channel. There is also the 2 ESC option, which eliminates the need for a dig unit (each ESC powers a motor) but it requires a 4channel radio setup for dual ESC's
