| When to charge your LiPo batteries
So I generally dont get to go out much during the week and play with my toys so its usually only on the weekends. So my question is, does it matter when I charge my batteries? In other words, will it matter if I charge them when I get home after a day of playing and then let them sit for a week until the next weekend, or is it better to charge them the morning of the day I am gonna go out and play? Thanks |

Well after reading up on several threads on battery care this is what I have gathered and currently use: Lipos: If you do not run your rig at least 2-3 times a month store your lipo at half it's voltage. Some chargers have a Lipo Store function like on Hyperions. Storing a lipo should keep them fresh for a long time (months)....some people put them in refigerators...don't know why. I just keep mine in a lipo sack. NiMH: Always keep them at full charge since they voltage tends to drop. If you see a lack in run time or performance try cycling them 3-5 times depending how long they have been sitting. NiCd: I keep at full charge as well (I only have maybe one or two for my glow-igniters). Plus they are cheap. |
