I contacted Spektrum about the same issue. They said it would have to be sent in for service. Honestly, it didn't look all that difficult to me. I ended up buffing it out with the stuff used for removing CD scratches.

I've looked up a few sites that have DX3R mod with backlight and from what I've found out all you have to do is pry it up with a exacto knife... curious now... why would they sell it if it has to be shipped in...

They are just double sided taped down. The tapes pretty strong, like the stuff they use to stick the badges on 1:1. But it does come off. Just pry it off and slap on the new one champ. |

| Woudnt worry about heat. More likely to cause issues than help. Just pry around the edges carefully to lift the old one. Give it a wipe with a cloth damp with alcohol (not the drinking kind) Let it dry and slam the new one home. You might need to get new double sided tape, because I dont know if the new covers come with it. |

Here you go...it shows you how on the first few pages, real easy. You need a hobby/exacto/razor knife http://www.mediafire.com/?cdf5ea5flyujucr Last edited by losikid; 03-31-2011 at 07:59 AM. |
