| cooking servos.... :S
seems I am choosing the wrong servos for my 2.2. gone thru 3 in a week!! They are just cheap Tower Pro 995's, Iv got a HH BRXL ESC, and a 2C.lipo,, weighted wheels, BTA. First one tore the ears straight off the servo casing, the second, locked up as did the third.. Will be purchasing something half decent this week.. Top of the list at the moment is this one.. http://www.robotgear.com.au/Product.aspx/Details/421 6 V: 0.14 sec/60°, 240 oz-in (17 kg-cm), 60 g. at $25. seems like a decent purchase... id obviously be quiet happy with something like the hitec 7980 http://www.servocity.com/html/hs-7980th_servo.html but unless I get a bonus during the week.... its unlikely... My question to the forum is has anyone else had similar issues with the Tower Pro servos operating thru a BRXL? ( I realise they are a cheap unit-the TPs NOT THE BRXL!- and prone to failure) And finally... Two servos on the front for steering... ie:LST2 style, one servo per wheel... has it been done on a crawler? did it work? any links or info you have on hand would be great!! sp33d |

i have heard some good things about the power hd servo but i would look at the savox servos as well is price is a concern. dang 270ft lbs of torque would be absolutely crazy for a servo but seriously its not ft/lbs in in/oz or torque

I had a HS 7980th in my Savage before I sold it. Thing was a BEAST. 611 oz/in of torque with 7.2v, everything was titanium except for one small gear. Waterproofed/dust proof, heat sink and was fully programmable. Only cost me about 130 bucks. Once I get back on my feet, I'm def going with another 7980th.
