I have 2 of the 3 racing one's but they hardly get used bought them mostly for looks. I ditched the controllers on both and used the boards out of old servos so I have variable in/out speed. Also have a servo winch the servo winch definatley has more pulling power. If one of the 3 racing winches crap out on me I will just put a servo winch in and route the cable out through the other so I still have the scale look with the pulling power of the servo. So if you don't care about have the scale look of the winch on the bumper I would convert a servo to winch duty.

Here's how to build one: Crawler Tech: How to Build a Winch

Just remember you'll have to find somewhere under the body to mount it and run the line out to a fairlead.

This is going to sound like a sales pitch, and in a way it is, but it does help you to know there a few options out there that you might not have considered.

I make a few different winch controllers. They can replace the factory winch controller (maybe yours if broken or you want more performance) or can be used on a servo that you have modified to become a winch.

If you end up suffering from winch creep or if you need more performance or want to use a transmitter with a two position channel to operate your winch, I have something for you!

Winch Controller for Radio with 2 Position Third Channel

Higher Voltage Winch Controller

I must add that your product is an Excellent Solution to a winch controller related problem. It really works Great with a 3racing, msd, or most probably any other scale winch in the market. Installation is a breeze, plug and play affair. And to top it all, the performance is outstanding, pull is strong and firm, with zero creeping.
