chinkychink 04-05-2011 11:31 AM

anyone

BEELZEBOB 04-05-2011 11:37 AM

Cant really begin to help you with so little info.

by "not working" what do you mean?

chinkychink 04-05-2011 12:05 PM

i ran it a couple times in my rustler worked perfect went out yesterday to play with it and the servo wouldn't work. it wouldn't turn or even make any noises so i took it out and tried to turn the horn manually and it still wouldn't move so i opened up the case to see if it was a gear problem and no gear jams plugged it in to try again and it went up in smoke

chinkychink 04-05-2011 12:51 PM

no one knows??????/

If it went up in smoke it's done for. Get a Hitec or Futaba. "thumbsup"

Sounds like the motor was toast before you took it apart.

when you get a new one, make sure you dont have any binding, and adjust your EPS's accordingly.

Back in the old DNA dig days, i didnt set my epas correctly, and watched a HT 645mg, Literally catch fire.

Glassman made fun of me.

Yea I smoked several 225mg's with my VP dig before I learned what an EPA was. :lmao:

ive got a dx2s setup and the first thing i did was adjust the epa so i wasnt binding the gear set but i have never had a servo burn up like that on like the 4th or 5th run

It could have just been one of those freak things. Have you contacted JR about the issue?

chinkychink 04-05-2011 01:45 PM

yea and no help from them they wont warranty it because it started smoking they said it was my fault but they are more than happy to sell me a direct replacement.

BEELZEBOB 04-05-2011 01:50 PM

JR is a great company, especially when it comes to warranty.

They, as I, probably have a hard time believing that after it was taken apart, it burned up by itself.

Send them an email, and re-word what happened....

chinkychink 04-05-2011 04:42 PM

wow does it really take almost 7 hours to get a hold of the manufacture. my local hobby shop wont do anything but send it in for me but i have to get them to send a tag to the hobbyshop first anyone else have this problem with this

BEELZEBOB 04-05-2011 04:48 PM

email them/horizon hobby.

you will get a response in 1-3 days.

But keep in mind, that they will most likely assume that you plugged it in incorrectly, freaked and took it apart, and then the reassembly is what smoked it.

write them an email, it has a 3yr warranty if you bought it new.

chinkychink 04-05-2011 04:56 PM

i baught it new from hobby town in kalamazoo michigan but i dont have the original recippt but the hobby shop guy knows me on a first name basis and he has been more help than the dam horizon hobbies has so i think im just gonna give up on it throw the crap away and go get me a hitec servo. i have never had a prob with those ones. i have a 645mg that i have had on 5 cars in 3 years and still works like brand new

BEELZEBOB 04-05-2011 05:01 PM

either way, you now have an excuse to buy an actually adequate servo.

chinkychink 04-05-2011 05:08 PM

what would be a good servo for a scx-10 stock running gear with an xl5 esc with lvc and a dx2s tx with sr300 rx for cheap less than $60

Charlie-III 04-05-2011 05:38 PM

Good & cheap are usually mutually exclusive words in a single sentence.

If you really want to do this hobby, get a decent/good servo and be happy.
Otherwise, be prepared to smoke a few along the way.

In racing, we used to say, "Good, Fast, cheap.......pick any 2........"8)

chinkychink 04-05-2011 10:22 PM
