motor reversing question

I jsut installed a lcc trans in my lnc. I've advanced the timing to 30degrees and I had to reverse the throttle on my transmitter. Since I reversed the throttle do I need to retard the timing instead of advancing it to get the benefit of it in the forward direction?

Edit: I'm running the novak ballistic 18.5T with a MMP esc and a Futaba 3pm-mx transmiter.

Which direction is the pinion spinning? clockwise or CCW? I would set the sucker to zero personally, since you can use the MMP in hybrid mode and get sensored startup and sensorless timing advance.

I'm using the cheat mode on the MMP. It doesn't go to 30* until I hit 16000 rmp. I just want to make sure its advancing on my throttle side and not my reverse side since I reversed the throttle on my transmiter.

since you are using a mmp dont reverse the channel on the radio, reverse the motor direction on the mmp with the castle link. when you hit forward on the tx now do the red or the green lights come on? if its red then it going to hit the cheat mode when going in reverse

Cool man thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I should have thought of the lights to figure it out. When I get home from work ill be reversing it on the mmp and back to normal on the transmiter. Thanks again
