Default Novak Wire removal

I tried to take the wires off of my speed control with no dice, I kept sthe soldering iron a few seconds longer than I like to.. Do I just need a more powerful soldering Iron? (It's a cheapie, however it works with everything that I have solder/desoldered short the Novak ESC..

there might be a coating over the solder. try scraping at it (carefully), once some is gone it should melt ok.

Also try melting a little new solder on--it'll help draw the heat from the iron to the old solder--I know it seems weird--add some to get the rest off but it works!

It could as you are saying be the fact that you are using a cheapie soldering iron, it might just not be getting hot enough, also make sure your soldering irons tip is clean, a wet sponge works great for this.
