Can someone help me out and show me some pics of how they setup their led lights? I'd like to use a pcb board and run about 9 white and 2 red leds.

If you're good at soldering very small wires, do what I did and put a 1/4 watt 100 ohm resister inline with one of the power wires to each LED (assuming you are using 6vdc). A peice of heatshrink tube over the resistor and second power wire and you're done. If you try to run more than one LED per resistor, you'll get a voltage drop and the lights won't be as bright. FYI, I'm using run of the mill LED's from Radio Shack. 100 ohms @ 6vdc seems to work well. Last edited by TrailDawg362; 04-08-2011 at 04:59 PM. |

BUT if you want to make your pcb, what are you wanting, just something to spread 6v around (KCJones makes this)? or something that regulates power too? If you want it to regulate power, are you wanting to do smd soldering or through hole soldering? Also about the cheapest place i found for a 1 off pcb cost $2.50 per square inch, has either a 10 or 15 dollar one time setup fee (so if you buy 10 of them its only charged once), then return shipping which is probably another $5-10 . THEN you have to get all the parts and solder them on. So it won't be real cheap | |
