Default balance and storage of lip

Hello,
i noticed that when i balance charge my 1300mah lipo 3s i have one cell that is always .2-.4 lower than the other 2 cells....is this normal or is the cell going bad.
second, when do i need to set up a storage charge, if i am going to use it withing a week is it needed?
thanks

A gap in voltage like that is pretty normal...most packs will have a slight discrepancy.

With regard to storage; usually a 60% charge is adequate for long term. If you're using your packs weekly though, there really is no need.

Just charge them after use like you normally would.

That sure sounds abnormal to me.

The answer to an imbalanced pack is always the same, balance it.

What charger are you using? Are you letting it complete the balance charge? Is the voltage of the cell dropping after the charge is complete or does it just stay low?

That is normal for a mismatched pack.

How different? If theres a big difference between cells after the esc hits the cutoff you may have a cell going bad.

When it charges do you get a cell that peaks over 4.20 and by how much? Your charger could be overcharging a cell and causing it to fail.

I rarely see more than .015v delta V on a pack that is decently matched, and this is with 6 cell packs. There is no reason besides tired or unmatched cells that you should have that much variance.

What is your voltage cutoff set to? You want to avoid taking that weak cell down all the way where it drops off the cliff before the other ones. Try bumping it up to 3.3v per cell and see if the balance is any better at the end of the run.
