Water/mud/rock proofing a axail 27T motor

So the other day I decided to go mudding. Found some soupy mud and I took my Scx-10(with stock electronics from the rtr kit) and I started going threw it then it just quit on me. The lights were on, the servo was working but the motor wasn't. So I bring it home. Take the body off and turn on the remote and the truck and start to turn the wheels wile holding the trigger. So I put the body back on and head back to the mud hole. Was working fine until it did it again. So I take the body off again and try moving the wheels wile I was holding the trigger. I replace the motor once before cause the reverse contacts wore out. So I called up axial and there sending me a new one for free in 2 days. And I wanna water/rock/mud proof it before I go out and run it again.

Questions:
Is there a way to stop the contacts from wearing out or is that a common thing?

And what way is there to waterproof the motor? Could I take a pill bottle and cut vent holes in it and then line it with mesh so the rocks wont get into it?

Thank You for your help!
sorry for the long post.

You could put it in a balloon. Tamiya used to sell balloons for motors years ago

The water is not going to affect the motor. It’s the mud and silt you need to keep out. Steal a pare of your girls pantyhose and cut the feet off wrap the endbell up with them and use a rubber band to keep them on. This will let the motor breath and allow water in but keep out the harmful stuff."thumbsup" Drail

I waterproofed them myself when I first got the truck back in Nov. Been fine ever since. And I drove it in the snow, mud, and water. Just bought a bottle of liquid tape from walmart.works good
