Question 3 Channel toggle switch Wire digram needed

OK I have a Futaba 3 channel with just a 2 way switch I'm unsure on how to wire the toggle switch I'm guessing the toggle switch i have has 3 prongs on it so it would be red on1. 2 leave alone and 3 on black. the 3rd channel 2 way switch has 6 prongs, so i just need a wire digram to figure it out thanks oh yea its for winch controll

I looked on the search and seen the spectrum channel one but was kinda lost on it thanks.

Ummm...which Futaba 3 channel? There are several.

As to "3 prongs" vs. "6 prongs" usually means, the 1st one is a "single pole double throw" vs. the 2nd one is a "double pole double throw". Basically the 2nd switch type is 2 of the 1st one.

Generally, the center prong is "common" and then you "switch" to either of the outer prongs.

The power wire should go to the middle prong. The other 2 wires need to go to the outer prongs.

Beyond that, maybe LosiKid can help out.

with the setup in the linked thread you'll use two buttons. one will do in and stop the other will do out and stop.

When i get some time i'll try and see if i can locate a toggle that will give you a 3way.

Or if you don't want to mod your radio, i sell adapters that will convert 2 pos signals from a radio into 3 position on the rx side. IF you already have a winch controller. If you don't have a winch controller heyok sells a 2 pos winch controller.

Is this the switch you are looking for?

Single Pole, Double Throw, Center Off

Its kinda strange how it works, i think a dpdt (double pole double throw) center off switch will work, but i've read a few threads that says otherwise on how they hook up the mercedes switch and and how the switch works.

+1, from the description it appears to be more of a "staged" switch. Each "toggle" adds in another circuit......I may be incorrect though.....

If you aren't able to find a way to get three positions with that channel, like losikid says, I offer a solution to operating your winch:

Winch Controller for Radio with 2 Position Third Channel
