Default 3s vs 4s on 35turn Motor

I have a SCX10 that has a full interior cage and tube bed. I would like to run two batteries, one located on each side of the tranny under the floor (on my sliders). I am running a Sidewinder with a silver can 35 turn motor and I have been running small 1350 mh 3s venom lipos. I can either set it up to run 2 1350 mah 3s batteries to get a total of 2700 mah or I could run two 2100 mah 2s batteris as a 4s saddle pack.

With all that being said, I have read that the Sidewinder will work OK on 4s. What difference would I really see on the 4s setup vs the 3s setup?

Thanks,

A 33.33333333% increase in speed and power. Say a motor turns at 1000kv, 2s would max at 8,400 rpm, 3s at 12,600 rpm and the 4s would crank out 16,800 rpm.

Well, I haven't had a chance to run my rig yet but it is getting kinda heavy. I'm am thinking that the increase in power will be nice. I don't think I need to much speed so I may have to change up my gearing a little. It would be nice for comps, and I can always put in the 3x lipos for longer trail runs.

it will have noticable power and speed increase but will eat throught the brushes and comm much faster and since its a silvercan you will need to replace it sooner so i would wire 2 3s in parallel for longer run times

You should also lower your pinion a tooth or two or increase spur size to compensate. Most likely a silver can 35t will heat up quite a bit on 4s.
