As an aside, the HiTec 7955tg is NOT all that old and has led a reasonable life.

Any ideas on why it get's hot?

Currently it's in a 1.9 comp rig.

Whats really hot? Have you temped it?

Really hot is "I can't touch it for more than a second". Around 170-200 Degree F.

Somewhat, but workable hot is "I can touch, and keep my finger there for a second or two". Around 150-170 degree F.

Anything else lower is operating temperature. If it's higher, send it in. Something is not right.

about that but i think i took the steering setup off my mini and tryed to steer it and it was really hard i mean really hard to turn and i loosened it and now the servo does not heat up it warm like its been working when i push the front tires into the grond to test if it gets hot
stupid to not check that

Not likely it's your steering setup if it gets hot unused and sitting there.
