Default Need advice on a Charger/Balancer/Lipo setup

Hey all, I'm pretty new to this stuff and I need to know if the battery setup I want to run is ok. And if there is anything in my overall setup that I should change.

Stock Jeep CR-01
FXR
Tekin 45t
HS-985MG steering servo
Futaba 3PM-MX

I would like to run this as a battery/charger combo
Hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC Balance Charger
Maxamps 2-cell 6500mah 7.4v pack

So would this be OK? Or is the battery overkill?
Thanks

We don't push batteries that hard, so there is no real need to get the uber expensive packs. You could get 5 lipos from somewhere else for what you'd pay for that one from Maxamps.

Take a look here...http://www.valuehobby.com/products.php?category_id=7

I bought a couple of their 5000mah packs for my short course truck and have had zero issues.

6500mah will run a looooooong time ( a few hours most likely) in a crawler. If you think you'll use it, then go for it. Just keep in mind you could get a couple smaller packs to swap out, and if something should happen to one, you'll have a spare.

Thanks I think I'll look into a couple of those 5000mah packs.
What about the C rating ? Is it better to have a higher rating?

Usually anything between 20-30 does just fine. Especially when you're talking about large mah packs. If you should ever run a sub 1000mah pack, I'd step the c rating up.

You might take some time and read the stickies about lipos and their different ratings just so you have a better understanding of what it all means.

You never want to completely discharge a lipo, it will ruin it. That is why we have ESC's with low voltage cutoff's and use external low voltage cutoff's. You never want to run a lipo cell below 3.0 volts otherwise damage can occur.
