Super rooster, 8 cells, BEC?

Im just starting to work on a 2.2 clod, and I plan on using a super rooster for the ESC. The super rooster has a 10 cell limit, so I was thinking of running 8 cells instead of the normal 6. Will I need a BEC with 8 cells? Or will the internal BEC compensate for the extra 2.4 volts?

Thanks

it should b fine i ran one in a drag car with the max ten cells no problems till the curb snuk up an sent my car into a water puddle. however a ccbec will give better power to the servo.

The super rooster's internal BEC will automatically compensate for input voltages up to 10 cells, but the higher the input voltage, the lower the amp rate the BEC will be able to provide. You might want an external BEC depending on how powerful a servo you plan on using.

I use a Super Rooster in my Super, running off 3s Lipo with a Novak Smart Stop and dual 1/4 scale servos being fed by an External BEC...
