Default help finiding that work with the DX6i

I just bought a dx6i from the LHS. They said that it would bind to any spektrum receiver. I plan to use it with my super and my other RC's that I have the MRX 3000 receivers in. I've searched high and low to find an answer to this. Some say yes, some say no only air receivers. Any help here? I just need to know if I need to replace all my MRX 3000, they only need to be at least 3ch to suit my other needs.

I've tried to bind it, it looks like it tries to, but won't complet the process. It binds just fine to my DX3E though.

I coppied this directly from their web page? Not sure why I can't get it to bind.

I have always read that you cant go surface to air or the other way around. Something about different programming since it is flying or something. If you tried it and it doesnt work then I would say that it doesnt work.
