Default Wiring 3 ESC's, 2 steering servos and a winch servon on a 6x6

I have an MOA 6x6 with 3 ESC's, two steering servo's, and soon to be a winch servo. All three ESC Rx wires are soldered together and fed to the Rx via one plug. I'm wondering if it would make more sense to cut two of the ESC power wires such that one ESC fed the Rx and winch servo, one fed the front steering servo and one fed the rear steering servo?

That makes a lot of sense. You have all that BEC power there, you might as well use it. By the way you are describing things, I don't think you need to be reminded that the red wires cannot be connected together.

Well, to be honest, I've been wondering that. Without knowing any better, I did connect them together. It's what was making me think about this to ask the question. The ESC's are older Roosters, and I've put about 1 2200mah 3S through the setup with no issues. What should happen by having all the reds connected? One or two of the esc bec's are probably fried...

Thanks for the response. I've been researching building my first servo winch and am about to get one of your controllers.

Well, maybe nothing will happen - if you are luckly. What could happen is that if one ESC's internal BEC was different in voltage than another, one might try and make the voltage higher while one tries to make it lower. But... you used all the same manufacturer on your three ESCs. Most likely, they won't fight like this, but one ESC's BEC would be providing most of the current to the load and could overheat. Again, not too big a deal because the voltage would start to sag a bit and then the other ESC's BEC would come into play.

Hopefully you are okay!

Always a wise choice
