So my earlier thread got deleted in the power down but was wondering about the 2.4 3channel and the 2channel controller and receiver, does anyone have one that can comment if they are good or not

If you are talking about the FS-GT3B the I have one and I think it's pretty great. True it lacks some features and has a few quirks but I've been using it for 3 months or so with no problems. It can easily be converted to use a lipo as well. Like I said there are a few quirks to it but some effort is being made to rewrite the firmware and fix these issues. There is a long thread over at rctech that covers pretty much everything. If you want to know anything else about it let me know.

I have had the gt-2 for about 2 months and besides being about as basic as you can get, which is the way I like it, it works pretty good. If your not gonna use dig or anything for a third channel I recommend it. And the rx is very small.

What is it lacking and what is it's quirks? I have no knowledge of electronics, losi kid referred it to me because the receiver is tiny and there wouldn't be any interference

Here is the thread: http://www.rctech.net/forum/radio-el...ansmitter.html I guess the trim can't be adjusted as much as some people would like, I've never had a problem. I think some people have complained about causing glitching in some spektrum radios, again I've never experienced anything like this. |

You're live in the portland area right? I will be getting a development board soon to flash my own transmitter. If you choose to get one I'd be more than happy to flash it for you.

Why would you use a spectrum receiver when it comes with it's own, and what does flashing mean? And ya I live near Portland |

Sorry I didn't explain that very well. There have been reports of glitches from other people with spektrum gear operating near a FS-GT3B you can't use a spektrum receiver with it. As far as flashing it means downloading new software onto the transmitter itself. The new software fixes the trim and a couple other things.

Like it said above the 2ch is super basic but works great. I ran one in a basher for a while and never had a problem. They use the same tiny receivers so that's a huge plus but I ended up selling it to get the 3 channel. $15 dollars more for the 3 channel and it has a ton more adjustments and model memory. Both served me well and you can't beat the price of receivers.

Alright so the GT3B in stock form is a great radio for $35 dollars. Its problems are faulty expo, limited trim adjustments, no 3 pos 3rd channel/ BUT all faults can be fixed with firmware, expo, trim, epa, backlight timer, and low voltage alarm have all been fixed. Eventually the radio will be 3 pos capable when a new firmware is written, instead of just fixed. When 3 way is available i'll either be modding them, or offer a diy kit, either way it'll be a simple kit. Others are also putting grease in the rtc components and some have even added bearings to make steering and throttle smooth, but then again we arn't racing so not a huge deal. The GT3B is 100x better than the GT2 because the 3b is programmable and its worth the few extra dollars. |

Looking forward to your mods and/or kits for these. I've had no issues with mine but I'd like 3way on channel 3 and a low voltage warning. |

What so you mean by low voltage? What type of battery does the controller use?

Now I'm confused, is it beeping to warn that your lipo in your truck is getting low or your batteries for the controller are getting low?

First things first the radio is sold by other vendors, but Hobbypartz is awesome. As with any budget gear don't expect to pay 35 bucks and have a 200 dollar radio. But if all you have is 35 bucks for a radio you can't go wrong with the GT3B. It works straight out of the box even with the few firmware glitches. I use budget radios for my bashers and mudders, I don't want to take my 4pk out on a rainey day and go mudding. The GT3b is one of the best, no I take that back is the best radio I have ever used that only costs 35 bucks. It is the standard that all RTR radios should strive to meet. |

Losikid what is the ETA on the 3pos 3rd channel switch? I really don't have a problem with the radio other then that. (other then the GD beeping, you better have fully charged/new batterys) lol |
