Default Mamba Max Pro and Novak 18.5 reverse glitch

I have a brand new MMP connected to a Novak 18.5 crawler edition motor. I have foreward and steering but reverse is weird. It will go stop go stop go stop go. like you are tapping reverse almost. its not a full power blast reverse. The reverse stop go stop go stop go is at different speeds equal to the trigger positoinn. Also sometimes when driving foreward and turning it cuts off. Also what version of firmware should i be using? Currently its at 1.24

I will give a quick partial reply.
The "dieing while turning" sounds like you don't have an external BEC. Depending on the steering servo, you are likely overpowering the ESC and causing the RX to die.
I had the same thing, until I added a CC BEC.

Yeah you are right on that. There is no external bec installed yet, I'm going to test with that next but what is weird to me is the reverse stalling/stop start stop start issue

OK, back.
Did you calibrate the ESC to the radio? You should have had the throttle trims set to "0" and EPA's set to 100%.
Then, calibrate the ESC to the radio.
Do you have a Castle Link? If you do, you could look at the throttle curves in the ESC.

The receive was cutting on and off in reverse only. When I installed with a bec the problems all went away.

Soooo....does this mean you are "fixed", if so, GREAT!!

I'm just trying to close this out for anyone else that may have a similar issue.

Hope things are OK now, now go burn up some electrons......

Yea that fixed the issue, and my friend had the same issue a week later with a Tekin Redline 21.5 MMP and Hitec 7980 only it would cutout when driving/turning. Installed the CCBEC and problem solved.
