| resistor question
I've noticed the past few times that I've used an on-line LED calculator, the schematics show the resistor on the cathode (negative) side. I was taught (many moons ago) that the resistor goes on the anode (positive) side. All of this is in consideration of using the LED in a 'forward' voltage arrangement. Have things changed and I'm doing it wrong? I haven't had any issues with the super bright LEDs that I use, so I'm just curious about this. |

Doesnt matter what side you put it on, in a series circuit the current is the same across the entire circuit so its not like if you put it behind the LED then the LED would somehow get more juice.

| x2, and another thing, unlike LED's resistors have no polarity, so it doesn't matter which direction its put in...i just have to laugh a little when its said the gold band needs to be facing the LED or something like that.
