Default Novak Brushless for Scaler ( Non-Goat-Crawler )

I was wondering how many of you guys are running either of the two following Novak Ballistic motors with a standard ESC like their Havoc...and how you like it for low and mid-speed scale trail driving.

3625V (Ballistic 25.5)
3621V (Ballistic 21.5)

it may have been that way back in the brushed days but with brushless and most their crawler esc's its been hit and miss on some. if you are set on novak and say a havok esc. how much voltage you going to be using? 2s lipo-17.5-18.5t 3s-18.5-21.5t

2S is what I'll be using. My dad has a 18.5 Goat Crawler setup in his AX10, and it seems to have ample wheelspeed. I don't have the money for a new Goat ESC...but I have a Havoc...just wasn't sure if guys had good things to say about the 21.5 and / or 25.5.

I'm running the 18.5 ballistic brushless on a Mamba Max Pro 1Cell and LOVE it!! I had the Goat 3s at first, but it started glitching out on me and finally smoked. Had a bad MOFSET. was replaced by Novak, but by then i already had the MMP in place. Plenty of wheel speed and with the external BEC (which you are going to run anyways so that's why it comes stock without an internal BEC) you can run up to 6s.

I run either a 2s or 3s pack. With the 2s, the heat is less, the wheels speed is less also, but it feels so much more controllable. BUt, with that said, i usually run the 3s packs!

Everybody's taste are different, but on 2s I'd suggest a 13.5 or 18.5 (for soma odd reason an 18.5 is faster than a 17.5). I run the 13.5 in my SCX and feel the balance of lowend vs speed is just about right on 2s with 13/87 gearing. When/if you buy a new ESC I'd suggest a mamba max pro over the Goat, it's cheaper and does much more. The MMP one cell is even cheaper and you'll probably need a BEC with whatever anyways.

Keep in mind that if you do buy a Goat later it only works with Novaks "crawler" motors, any other motor and it works like the Havok (no drag break and no instant reverse). Also the ballistic crawlers 14mm rotor cuts speed way down from standard motors.
